With the ambition of becoming Net Zero by 2045, Bruynzeel Storage Systems has now reached a major milestone – to lead the industry of space saving storage systems and become climate-neutral for its own operations as of June 2021!

By applying Bruynzeel’s space saving storage solutions, our customers achieve a reduction of up to 75% of the physical footprint. With that, they achieve tremendous savings on building materials and construction costs as well as operational costs such as heating, cooling and lighting. This makes every space saving solution by Bruynzeel a sustainable choice by definition.

Bruynzeel Storage Systems’ strategic objective is to be the world’s most environment friendly provider of space saving storage solutions. To achieve that objective we are continuously working on reducing our footprint and thus contributing to a sustainable planet.

As the European market leader in space saving storage solutions, we’ve already had sustainability as a key facet of our operation strategy for many years. For example, we’ve eliminated several production steps by using unoiled and non-galvanised material. In this way, we save tremendous amounts of water and energy, avoid pollutants, and significantly lower our carbon footprint

Own operations: Climate Neutral

Bruynzeel Storage Systems has now reached another milestone in our path to Net Zero: having our own business operations climate neutral. By “own operations”, we mean our scope 1 and scope 2 emissions according to the greenhouse gas protocol*. We eliminated these emissions starting on June 1st by solely procuring green electricity from local solar and wind installations and green gas from local processing installations.

In addition, we will continue with further energy reduction programmes and continuously monitor and manage our consumption to ensure we use a bit less every year. By doing this, we act in accordance with SME guidelines from the Science Based Targets.

By making our business operations climate-neutral we ensure that our customers not only lower their footprint by using their space in the most efficient way, we also contribute to their sustainability goals by reducing the footprint of their value chain, which is referred to as their scope 3 emissions*
