Erasmus University in Rotterdam has several depots for the storage of books and bound periodicals. With these stores rapidly filling, the university identified a former shop to convert into an additional library depot.
The solution However, the load capacity of the floor in the shop was not sufficient to support the required shelving. To solve this problem, carbon steel girders and carbon strips were added to strengthen the floor as part of the installation process. The depot now holds 1322 m2 of storage.
